Coleen Kivlahan, MD, MSPH, is Senior Director of Health Systems Innovation and Policy at the American Association of Medical Colleges, and serves as senior medical consultant to Physicians for Human Rights for their Program on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones. She has provided sexual assault evaluations for two decades to children and adults, created the SAFE Network in the State of Missouri, and has done more than 200 torture evaluations on political asylee applicants. Her most recent international work has supported the creation of a multidisciplinary network of professionals in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya committed to enhancing the science and standardization of care for victims of sexual violence.
